Idiom of the Week-Dark Horse
When we watch competitions, we often hear the English idiom 'dark horse'. What does it mean anyway?
dark horse - a candidate not so known by the general public
Usually we refer to someone as a dark horse when at first we didn't notice him and we're rooting for other candidates. And then towards the middle or end of the competition, he begins to shine, surprising people of his capabilities.
